22 JULY 2017 – 7 AUGUST 2017
17A Smith Street Singapore (058931)

In continuous effort of creating original works, The Wright Stuff, is a new playwright incubation programme initiated by Toy Factory Productions aimed to develop and nurture aspiring local playwrights to bring their work-in-progress scripts from writing to center stage.

A total of four playwrights – Al Hafiz Sanusi, Gina Chew, Samantha Chia and Tan Jia Yee were selected during an open call in June 2016. All playwrights will go through an intensive series of creative writing workshops to grasp a deeper understanding of local theatre script writing hosted by Toy Factory Productions Ltd and graciously mentored by its Chief Artistic Director, Goh Boon Teck.

In working tangents between discovering promising artists and establishing a space for young artists, The Wright Stuff has engaged budding directors to work hand-in-hand with the playwrights. Stanley Seah, Mitchell Fang, Farez Najid and Mustafa Rafiuddin will not only be directing but also tasked to facilitate the progress of the playwrights’ and their creative thought process. They’ll develop to present their work-in-progress by mid July and early August 2017 over at NowPlaying@17, a newly renovated Toy Factory Productions Ltd performance space.
