妖精 - SPIRITS
SPIRITS is a Singapore Arts Festival’s commission in 2005 and was invited to perform in Veliky Novgorod’s King Festival 2009 in Russia. It tells a tragic story of 5 Chinese women performed by 5 leading male Chinese Opera actors. Despised and condemned by history, this gripping drama revisits the tragic stories of five infamous beauties whose lives were intertwined with the destinies of empires spanning 5,000 years of Chinese history.
Journey with them and unfold their heartbreaking stories brought about by lust, desire and foolishness.
"Opera lover or not, there was plenty to see, hear and think about in this aesthetically dense and polished production" - The Flying Inkpot

FIRST LIGHT
If the entire world is a stage, what scene would you offer as a last encore? Trapped in a limbo between existences, seven deceased Singaporeans are reading their own obituaries. A postman, a teacher, a grassroots leader, a businesswoman, an actress, a taxi-driver and his wife, seven elderly strangers with little in common in Life; now find themselves together as they face the greatest adventure of their lives - Death. Before this wait is over, they must each revisit, relive, re-enact the most significant moment in their life. Only then can they move on.
"Despite its seemingly morbid premise, First Light turned out to be a light-hearted, poignant and feel-good affair that made for a very enjoyable night out." - The Straits Times

SLEEPLESS TOWN
In an era where people seek hope, the lines between fantasy and reality are often blurred. This being particularly true of 12-year-old Nora Mowwend as she dreams up Sleepless Town’s heroes in a make-believe world as antidote to a troubled life. A high energy original musical starring Julia Abueva, Karen Tan, Chua EnLai, Elena Wang and Mark Richmond. THE CRAB FLOWER CLUB
Set in a respectable household in the Qing Dynasty, 5 daughters come forth on the eve of their father's 60th birthday. For the 5 ladies, whose personalities sparkle as irresistibly as flower diamonds, their twin mission is clear - to prepare the most delicately complex feast of crabs for their patriarch, as well as the setting up of an all-women poetry club. As each of them conjures up their inner recipe, the 5 ladies assemble their intelligence, talents and grace nakedly on the table for this exchange of emotions and quick-witted verse. Words are pickled, skewered and boiled; wit is seared and charred; expressions stirred and steamed to perfection as each daughter reveals her menu of love. In their eventful attempts, the inner worlds of spiritually beautiful Chinese poems are peeled and revealed layer by layer. The Crab Flower Club is a delicious examination on the excitingly calligraphic world of sensitivity and simmering feelings. Experience this feast of crabs, flowers and literature. “Buoyed by an effortlessly written script and the steady cadence of director Goh Boon Teck’s hand, it was like waiting for a mouth-watering dish that did not disappoint.” - TODAY
