白言， 原名阎伯元，来自中国江苏，从小就对表演艺术赤心沸腾。他从30年代就开始缤纷灿烂的表演生涯，与银月歌舞团到华南地区巡回演出。第二世界大战之后，白言选择新加坡为家，为本地表演艺术圈献上精彩的演出和宝贵的经验。白言叔后来加入新加坡电视机构，参与无数本地电视制作，对新加坡的演艺界的贡献是无价崇高的。新加坡电视机构在白言光荣退休以前，颁发“终身成就奖”给这位国宝级演员。
Bai Yan, born as Yan Bo Yuan in Jiang Su, China; inspired to be an entertainer since his innocent days of watching Chinese Operas. He left his beloved family to join a travelling troupe in 1930s.
His troupe toured from Southern China to Thailand, Malaysia and finally Singapore. Bai Yan then enjoyed a long and successful acting career with Television Corporation of Singapore (TCS).Upon his retirement in 1996, Bai Yan was awarded with TCS “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his work in the entertainment industry.
